While this company has many positive reviews my experience was unfortunately disappointing. During a visit to discuss several radiator replacements, the plumber made a few inappropriate comments implying that I was mindlessly spending my husband's money and that he would have the final say on the decision. This feels so dismissive and outdated. To make matters worse, I never received the promised quote, suggesting to me that my inquiry wasn't taken seriously, and I can't help but think this was due to gender bias. Ultimately I took my business elsewhere. Professionalism and respect should be consistent and I hope this feedback helps them improve their service to potential female clients.

Called Shears to help renovate our bathroom by tiling the room completely, putting in a new shower and flooring. The team are an absolute pleasure, very friendly and understanding with concerns, went the extra mile whilst in our family home with my children. Great service, Great team. Will 100% use again in the future, couldn't recommend highly enough.

We woke up with no heating or hot water and unable to top the pressure up on the boiler. We contacted Shears who came out within 2 hours, Ben was so friendly and Knowledgeable of the issue and sorted the blockage and topped up the pressure. All working brilliantly now, we highly recommend Shears and will always use them going forwards. Thanks to Ben and the team, happy household again here :)

Shears plumbing heating & gas have done many jobs for us. The main one being a complete new boiler system and radiators from start to finish the team were great! Shears Review This is actually my beautiful new bathroom that has been brilliantly installed from start to finish by Shears. As you can see from the photos, the workmanship is second to none. Wes from Shears managed the installation team from start to finish and nothing I asked him was too much trouble. The plumbers Dean and Ross were very friendly and professional as well. Craig’s and Wes’s tiling is amazing as you can see from the finish. Great plastering from Wes on the ceiling and Simon the electrician has done a lovely job of the new ceiling spotlights, alcove light and the storage mirror light as well. Danielle and Charity in the back office keep you up to date i.e. asking if anything needs authorising or changing etc. The company owner Ben Shears was also involved from the survey stage and his advice was also great. I would recommend Shears to anybody as a friendly, down to earth and professional company where you as the customer are looked after from start to finish. Thank you Shears and here’s to the new kitchen in a couple of weeks. This is also my beautiful new kitchen, expertly installed by Shears. Very impressed again with all the team, especially Andy and Matt the carpenters who installed and redesigned small parts of the kitchen as this would look better ie: boxes around pipes and the way the corner hidden panels would look. Any snags were expertly dealt with by contacting either Danielle or Ben and they both would not question anything but send the relevant person back to rectify these things. We were also very impressed again with the tiling, so much so that we decided to have the conservatory floor retiled and levelled which looks extremely good. Any damaged items in the kitchen were dealt with by Danielle direct with Wren who sent replacement items. Had the kitchen fully re-plastered by Wes who delivered a really good finish. Plumbing completed by Richard who did exactly what I wanted. Silicone finish by Dennis who is an expert at this. Electrics again all fitted by Simon who did a very good job. The Quartz worktop installers even commented on how nice it was to fit to units that had been installed level, a nice complement for Andy and Matt. I would recommend shears to anybody for kitchens or bathrooms

Well, what can I say. We stumbled upon Shears PHG by accident. A referral from another trade. And what a happy accident! From day one when Danielle (their star asset!) called us back straight away from our email to completion and even beyond with little tweaks, I cannot fault the service. 5 star all the way. The fitting of the kitchen has superb. Exactly how we wanted it - even better following advice based on their greater experience. The tiling is chef's kiss - many people's favourite feature - and it's perfectly straight and smooth. Throughout the whole process each and every member of the team was polite, helpful and did a fantastic job. We felt so comfortable we left them with the keys to fit the kitchen whilst we were on holiday. Not only would I recommend Shears to anyone, they will now be our go to company for future home improvements.

Created a beautiful bathroom for us in what was an open landing space. Excavated driveway for sewerage, all floor and wall plastering and tiling, plumbing and electrics completed to a high standard. All involved were helpful, courteous and professional. Any snagging dealt with promptly. A neighbour had initially recommended Shears for our boiler service. Excellent communication with all members of the team, friendly and helpful staff, service with a smile. Would highly recommend.

Can’t speak highly enough of Ben and his team. We asked Ben to plan and carry out a renovation of our out houses to convert them into a dining room. From start to finish we were extremely pleased with the whole process, the team were punctual, tidy and carried out the work with excellent workmanship.
